Ouachita Parish has four courts having criminal jurisdictions, the 4th Judicial District Court, Monroe City Court, West Monroe City Court, and Sterlington City Court. All felonies are in the 4th Judicial District Court. Misdemeanors and traffic cases may be in any of the four courts. There are five sections of the 4th JDC with felony criminal jurisdiction, one section with misdemeanor criminal jurisdiction, and one Drug Court.
